Ok! Let's see if I can get this blog to do what it's suppose to do. I have been kind of frustrated with the new interface. Maybe, just maybe I got it figured out! So here goes.......... First let;s get a picture to load................Nope! Can't get it to work! I was going to show you two new quilts that we have in the shop. They are really pretty, but your just going to have to take my work for it. OR... stop in and see for your self. It's getting to be a BIG time of year for quilters. This week end is Expo in Puyallup. In two weeks there will be the Q.A. Show in Monroe and then the very next week end is the Tri County Quilt Tour. So we are gearing up with lot of new fabric and kits. So sorry there's no pictures today. Hopefully Google is working on it!

Mystery Solved!
Our mystery class, yesterday, was lots of fun! I think all the students (sluths) would agree with me. They all wanted to know when the next one is scheduled. Well, at this point that's a mystery to me too. The next quarters class schedule is just beginning to form in my mind now. So, we will have to wait and see what hatches!
Ok!!! So Now the cursor won't let me type were I want to! PUWEY!!!!! But, today, I have pictures. I'm not sure how this is an improvement! Anyway, The picture above is Christine with her mystery quilt. The top one is Wendy's and the bottom one is Leilani's. They all got their tops almost done. They will just have to put on the borders. I really loved this pattern. Every ones quilt was a big success! I guess I'll have to start dreaming up a new mystery.

It's a Mystery
I'm still having trouble with this stupid new interface. I can't get a picture to go on this post. So I'm a little frustrated with the blog right now. Maybe I should just focus on the good things! Today was a realy fun day! It started with teaching the floorquilt class. It was lots of fun! (I had pictures, but they won't load) The girls were VERY creative. I like teaching that class! And tomorow is a REALY fun class. Aunt Mary's Winter Mystery. I would show you a picture but - #1 - It won't load and #2 I can't caus then it wouldn't be a mystery! The one thing I will say is - I really like the one I did as a sample. I will be hanging it in the shop after the class, so you will have to stop by and see it.

"The Sweet Shoppe"
I have been having problems with my blog posts for the last couple of days. There is a new interface and I'm really not doing well with it. I will get it figured out. I'm getting the distinct idea that google is still playing around with it. So anyway, let's see if this works! Here's a new line to come in. It's called "The Sweet Shop" and it's from Benartex. It's so sweet, you could just eat it! There is an applique pattern from "Vantage Spool" that I think these fabrics would be spectacular for. I have it coming in on Friday. So I will try and post it..... If I can figure this goofy thing out! Ok! I'm going to press - Publish- now. Let's see what happens.

Fat Tuesday At Aunt Mary's
This Tuesday is Fat Tuesday here at the the shop. Traditionaly, thats the day befor Lent, and we are supose to give something up. Well, let's not make it fabric! On Fat Tuesday, all the fat quarters will be just $1.89 each! Whew! What a savings! The regular price is $3.19 each, and I would really love to say that price won't be going up any time soon. But! I'm not too sure about that. The prices just keep flying!
There are lots and lots of fat quarters all over the shop. Not only this big case full, but, we also have five big drawers in the cutting table in the classroom. The tops the cases in the shop are covered with some of the fabrics that just came in. There are really lots to choose from. So this Tuesday, Get out your pretty beads and stop by and stock up!

Buggy Barn Class Tomorrow! Oh Boy!!
Tomorrow is Saturday, and it's "The Buggy Barn Class" I always really enjoy teaching this class. I have been working on a new quilt from one of the "Buggy Barns" latest books "Still Crazy" Here are just a few of the blocks. It's called "Crazy Teapots". It will have tea cups and a cute checker board sashing. I think they are really cute! Can't wait to see them all done. I have the cups all cut out and waiting so that I can demonstrate to the class how they all get rotated and put back together. Fun! I will try to remember to take some pictures to post. Have a great weekend!

A Fun New Project
I just love hanging new quilts in the shop! My friend Donna, just finished this fun quilt. I don't think my photography really does it justis. The bues are prettier and the colors too. It must be the lighing in the shop on a rainy day. Blah!!! It's really very summery looking. It makes you want to go out and have a picnic! Ah! Such a day dream! We would get wet today! But, picnic weather is just around the corner.
This quilt is made from the "Snippets Two" book. It just takes two "Layer Cakes" and some background fabric. This line of fabric is "Reunion" from Moda. Donna reported that it was a fun quilt to make. So if you are looking for something to work on that's fresh and summery. Come on in!

Floral Sale Today
Here we are in the depths of winter in the great northwest. The rain and the plain old darkness can be a bit much for us. It can get downright GLOOMY around here. However, being a quilter, I think we are lucky. We can get a little bit of sunshine just by working on a beautiful quilt with spring colors in it. There is much written about "color therapy." I know I feel better having all the pretty spring colors around the shop. We have had lot's of new lines of fabric come in just lately. Here is a new collection from Free Spirit by Jane Sassaman. It just came in yesterday. It's fun, lively, and has some great colors! It's just in time for our big sale! Wednesday through Saturday this week is our "Mid Winter Floral Sale" here at the shop. All yardage with anything hat grows from the dirt is 15% off. Let's chase those winter blues away!

Get Signed Up For "The Buggy Barn" Class
Saturday, February 18th is our next "Buggy Barn" class. THE Buggy Barn is a beautiful quilt shop just this side of Spokane. If you have never been there, you should put it on you list of places to visit. Not only is it a great shop the owners are wonderful designers of THE FUNNEST quilt patterns I know of. I have been addicted to their technique since the first one of their books that I picked up over twelve years ago. Now, I think I have about 10 quilts done using their patterns. I Love them! they are playful and easy to do. If you use fabrics that you love, you are guaranteed to have a great time making the quilt. This is one of their newer books. I think it came out last summer. I have already done the "Turkey Quilt" From it and I will be starting one that is soooo cute that has tea pots and tea cups. I can't Wait to start picking out the fabric. So if your interested, we have a fun class coming up. give me a call and we will get you signed up. I know your going to love it!

The Ferocious Quilt Eating Dog
For those that would like to look away....... Here he is Henry! The ferocious quilt eating dog. Here he is sitting on the quilt with at least twenty holes in it. This little guy can LOOK so Innocent. Believe me... He's not! One day I left the living room with him playing with a little stuffed animal. Approximately three minutes latter I came back. There was stuffing literally falling from the sky. It was all over the room. He was covered in it! He even some on top of his head. He gives me this look like "Look what somebody else did!" "It really wasn't Me" What a goof! I have more quilts. However, they won't probably be on my bed for a while.

I Got The Blues For You! (and yellows & greens)
Now, this collection is a breath of fresh air. It's from Moda, called "Summer Breeze". It is soooo fresh and beautiful. I have been thinking of something wonderful to make with it. (As if I need another project!) Perhaps, I will make one of our quick throw quilts with the charm packs. Or maybe I'll just have to take the full collection of fat quarters home and figure something out latter. That way I HAVE it. Is that a quilters thinking, or what?
The latest addition to our family (Henry the wiener dog) has chewed holes in the quilt on my bed. (He is just the sweetest little guy, But he has issues!) I think he has stopped that habit now. So maybe this will be a new quilt on my bed. On the other hand, I should probably wait and make sure he's stopped. I would be sooo sad if he did it to a new quilt. I swear, we should have named him "Darn You" I can't tell you how many times we have called him that. "Darn You Henry!!!"

A Sweet Baby Quilt!
Isn't this the cutest little guy? It's a new pattern from a new designer. Her name is Lisa Muilenburg, and her pattern company is "Counted Quilts". I think shes got some really cute patterns. This is the first one we've gotten, but she has lots of really cute ones that I think will show up in the shop real soon. She has Dinos, bears, elephants and a really sweet whale. She says all of the patterns are quite easy and they are all pieced! No applique.
I bet we all know a little person that would love this quilts!

Did you notice that the days are getting a bit longer. It was still light at 5pm last night! And, inside the shop, we are starting to get some really beautiful spring fabric! Tulips and roses, all in pretty spring colors. Spring will be here before we know it!

It's Virginia's Birthday
Happy Birthday To You Dear Virginia! I just absolutly love this dear girl! She is my oldest sons girl friend. She has spent many days here in the shop learning to quilt, and I think she has grown on all the ladies that come in. I told my son not so long ago that if anything ever happens between them, I will probably have to choose Virginia! I hope she has a very wonderful day! Happy, Happy, Happy!!!!
