Faded Glory

Ta Da!!!! I finished! I just LOVE this quilt! I am always telling people the only perfect quilt that exists is the one you truly loved making. Well, this is one of them for me. It's called Faded Glory. From a pattern from Vintage Spool. It's just a great quilt for the summer time. I am just finishing up kits for this quilt. So, if you want to, you can make one too.

Spring Birdies

Birdies have arrived at Aunt Mary's. I just love this time of year when the humming birds come dive bombing in to get some sweet syrup from my feeders at home. Now I have them here in the shop! And, my other favorite bird too. GOLD FINCHES! I think this fabric will have to go home with me.

A Book Club Field Trip

Several months ago Aunt Mary's book club read the book "On the corner of bitter and sweet." It's a really wonderful book that got rave reviews from the book group. We all loved it! The book centers on the international district in Seattle, and especially around the Panama hotel that is still there. The group decided to take a field trip and see the hotel, with its basement that is still full of belongings from the Japanese that were interred during the war. So here is the group! I didn't get to go. Oh well! somebody has to mind the shop. What a fun and interesting day. I can't wait for a report at next book club.

I'm So Lucky!!!

Yep! I feel very lucky to have Roxanne Carter teach in my shop six times each month, and she let's borrow her quilts!

I always have a great selection of her quilt patterns for sale in the shop.

These are the quilts that she does in all her "Girls Day outs" here in the shop. They have all been made by her students, so they are very "pattern tested."

Everyone says she does things the easy way so her patterns are always fun to do.
She even has applique on this quilt! Even those of you who say "you don't do handwork!" Can do this one. She does it by machine.
lucky, lucky lucky! That's me!!!

Soooo Cute!!

Look what just came in!! The jungle!!! It's from a newer company that I am getting fabrics from, called Studio E. they make some really neat stuff!
Donna made this cute little quilt with the fabric. Isn't it great?! It very, very simple! It's just the panel in the middle and also used for corner stones, tossed animals for a border and Border stripe fabric around the outside. What little person wouldn't love this?
I will be working on a free little pattern to go with the fabric.

Fresh as a Daisy

Here's my friend Robert. He's all fresh from his bath this morning. I thought he should be on my blog. For those of you that have not been to Aunt Mary's. Robert has been here in the shop greeting customers with his beautiful songs for almost ten years now. He's a very sweet little guy. He loves to have lots of company. When the shop is full and everyone is talking and having fun, he tries to out do everyone with his song. I think hes wonderful!!!

Meet The Teacher

This Saturday is Meet the Teacher. It's a fun time to stop in the shop and see the class samples, talk to the instructors and sign up for a class. This quilt is "Storm at Sea". Donna Holthusen will be teaching it on Saturday, June 5th. It's a really complicated LOOKING quilt, but it's really not so hard. it's uses a great set of templates from C&T Publishing, and it makes it almost fool proof.

There are lot's of other fun classes also. I'm teaching the world famous class...... Buggy Barn Mania! Meet the teacher is from 10-1 this Saturday. Stop by and see us!
