Haloween Fabric!

I was so surprised on Friday when we got new fabric in.  I wasn't really expecting Halloween. I guess I shouldn't have been too surprised. After all, I ordered it, and Christmas will start arriving in June.  It just seem ways too early!   I always love Halloween fabric.  It's very fun!  I have some from Alexander Henry coming that is just THE BEST.  I can't wait! This line comes from Red Rooster. They really do a great job.

This panel has a very sweet Halloween poem.  We are working on a cute little quilt using this panel and some simple borders. Stay tuned for pictures.

Shop Hop Posters Are Ready! My Block Debute

I can hardly believe how fast the Shop Hop is approching! I still have soooooo much to do. Yesterday The Shop Hop poster arrived in the mail. Unfortunatly, I forgot to order any to sell. Things get past me every once in a while. Oh well! I will get some ordered in time for the Hop. But untill then, you can always stop in and see what everyone did. I really think there are some amazing blocks. It's always fun to see what they all came up with. Such tallent out there!!

I have been getting lots of e-mails and calls about what we did for our block. I am always kind of torn as to weather to show my block or not. I kind of think everyone should wait and be surprised. I mean, you don't open your presents early do you? But then again I know it helps you plan. So, here it is. Hope you like it. It's a really fast, fun block to make, and it has lots of possabilities. At this point in my life, (I'm in the middle of making hundreds and hundreds of kits) I'm a little HO HUM. But I'm really almost done. Then the fun can start! Hopping Time!!!

Today, here at Aunt Marys, we are having a really fun class! Here is Ethel (Our wonderful, talented and darn nice instructor) I think she's THE BEST!!! But, that's just totally beside the point! Our class today is on the "Spicy Spiral Table Runner"

It's really a fun project. I have never seen a bad one yet. We have the pattern here in the shop, and it has really been a best seller. Well, I hear them laughing back there. I better go get them back to work!

A Wowzer Bowzer Quilt!

I soooo love it when you guys come back and share a quilt that you have finished. Especially when it's from one of our classes. This is Roxanne with a quilt she did for a friends husbands birthday. What a great friend she is! She has been coming to my Applique Workshop on the second Tuesday of each month. I don't really think she was having to much of a problem with her applique. She just needed a pinch to keep going. This quilt is THE BEST!

Of course I had to show off the wiener dog Block. Soooooo Cute!!! Thanks, Roxanne for sharing!

Shop Hop Fabric 2011

I can hardly believe that in just over one months time we will be having our next instalment of "THE GREAT NORTH WEST WASHINGTON SHOP HOP" We have the fabric in and we are taking pre-orders on it if you are interested. Just give us a call and we can take your order over the phone and have it ready for you the first day of shop hop.

I have been busily cutting our block kits out. I Feel like I have A.D.D. or something. I cut for about five minutes and find myself off doing something else instead of cutting. (Like maybe posting my blog) Oh well, I think our block is very nice this year. Keep watching the blog, I may post it latter. I better get back to cutting now............

"Spring" Cleaning Sale

Spring? Ok! I haven't had a lot of inspiration for my blog lately. I think, as with allot of us, I have been a little "Blaw." I'm usually not one to complain very much about the weather. But, OK! It's even got me a little down. So to get out of it and make myself DO something. I have been "Spring Cleaning"
There will be lots and lots of new things coming in to get ready for the big SHOP HOP in June. So I have pulled lots of the old stuff that has not gone home with anyone in the last six months.

Today is the first day of "Spring Cleaning Sale"

It always feels good to clean up, and it's GREAT deals for you guys.

Saturday Sampler Starts This Saturday

It's time to get our Saturday Sampler Sessions going again. This Saturday will be the first meetings, At 10:30 and 2:00. I am very excited to do this again. We took about a year off, and I had so many people that have asked to do it again that I decided to get us it going. Each month we will be working on a new block. I like to do blocks that teach something. We will start with basic piecing and do lots of other techniques through the year. Curved piecing, paper piecing, set in piecing, and even touch on some applique. I think it's better to learn something than just do the easy stuff the whole time. At the end there will be several ways to set all the block. so each one will look so different. We may even show how to quilt as you go. So, set your alarm this Saturday and let get you going!

Button, Button Who's Got The Button...... I DO!

Watch out! When I get a bee in my bonnet. I change things! I decided that I wanted an area that has all kinds of goodies like trims, ric rac, pom poms and pretty colored ribbons, (I have some really exciting "Kaffe Fasset" ribbon ordered. Be on the look out!) and BUTTONS! All kinds of buttons! You can fill a baggie of your favorite ones, or maybe get a cute little jar?
There are sooo many things that you can do with button! String them on elastic thread and make a bracelet, embellish a quilt. (aka Marylou Wiedeman), fill a pretty jar and just look at them!
Cool!!!
