As we travel through the quilting world, our conception of what a quilt really is changes dramatically. When we first start quilting most of us think of a quilt as something to put on the bed. Many of us never change that opinion. There's nothing wrong with that. What could be better than wrapping the people we love in something we made with love using our own hands. Soon, however we run out of beds.
I can remember seeing Marylou speak at a guild meeting, and she changed my view of quilting forever. Some quilts are soooooo much more than "blankets." Some of them are parts of our lives. They tell a story. They tell about our lives and what is important to us, our loves, our lives, our journeys. All in a piece of art to pass down to the future generations. Marylou really knows how to tell a story! When she has been here at the shop, she really knows how to help us tell a story too. If you get a chance to take a workshop from her. Don't pass it up. She's GREAT! So, tomorrow is the opening of her exhibit in LaConner. Maybe you should go.

Carol, thank you for being a cheerleader for me. We all need that and it feels so much more special when it is someone you admire and think it great! You are an awesome and kind person and I really appreciate you for that! Thanks so much-it was great seeing you. I hate linen....look how wrinkled I looked in that lime green top! Shhesh
