Oh! What a Beautiful Morning!

I went to bed last night with rain on the roof. This morning the birdies are singing, the sun is out and EVERYTHING is green!  This is a picture of the trees outside the classroom window.  It seams like it was just two weeks ago. Their were tiny little buds on the trees.  Now!  They are lush green.  With every green in the pallet! I know so many of you don't like the rain. But we would not have the beautiful greens without it.  And when we get blue sky. It is REALLY BLUE!  I love living in the Northwest,
And, here in the shop, we have been getting lots of new fabric.  This is a line from "In The Beginning"  Called "Chickadee"   So pretty!  It's got a beautiful big panel, a border stripe, and several coordinates.  If I didn't have too many projects to get done before Shop Hop.  I would make something from this line.  There are just lots of fun things coming in.  Spring Market was just last week so the new books, patterns and fabrics will be flying in soon.  SO MUCH TO DO!  Off I go!

Spring Cleaning Sale Starts Today

It's that time of year again!  I have been busy cleaning  the shop. Looking in closets and hide aways.  Pulling lots of fabric and other goodies that just hasn't gone home with you fast enough. Now it's all price to GO!!!  %50 off and MORE.  I gotta make room for the new stuff.  Believe it or not Christmas fabrics and Halloween fabrics are starting to arrive. That and SHOP HOP is just around the corner.  The shop can't look messy!
I have even found lots of class samples for you to make a home for.  I kind of have a hard time letting them go. But they are VERY reasonably priced.  I just can't keep EVERYTHING.  Boy oh Boy, When I get cleaning, there is just no stopping me.  Watch out!!!

The Great Northwest Washington Shop Hop is Just Around the Corner

It's so hard to believe that The BIG Shop Hop is just a month away!  I'm starting to get a little antsy.  There is SOOOOOO much to do.  We have the fabric in the shop and everyone just loves it this year.  I have lots and lots of pre orders for it.  I have a feeling it wont last long this year.  I will be starting to get my pattern kits all ready.  (Not my favorite part)  it is lots of work.  Cutting, packaging, stapling. etc.  It's hours and hours of work.  Then there is always the worry you don't give them enough and some will be unhappy.  Oh well!  We always try real hard.  That's all we can do.   I may post my block latter.  Maybe!  I kind of like it to be a surprise.  You wouldn't open your Christmas presents early would you?
So today, I will be making the pattern, and possibly start cutting the fabric.  Of course there is 2500 copies of the pattern to get done.  OH MY!  I think I'm hyperventilating!!!!  Can't wait to get this all done! I think one or two of my wise friends would tell be to take a deep breath and start.  Here I go!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mothers Day!  I am looking forward to a sunny, relaxing day.  One son has to work, and the other thought Mothers Day was last Sunday.  So it looks like my day will be quiet.  That's OK.  I have two wonderful sons that love me and tomorrow is promised to be filled with sunshine!  Remember though... Aunt Mary's will be closed for the day. So for one day - don't stop by.  I hope all of you have a great day.  Mom's are VERY special!  My mom has been gone for some years now, but I can still feel her. (And hear her voice coming out of my mouth)  She was a big influence on me.  I would love to have one more day to talk to her. So, here is a lesson.... the best gift you can give is time.  Spend some time with those you love and make sure they know how much you love them.  Happy Mothers Day!!!

Another Bag for Baggoramma!

It's been kind of a fun week!  I have been busy making bags and demonstration samples for BAGGORAMMA! It's been fun!  I tell you this kind of project is sooooo fun!  I think I like it because its not too involved.  The project can get done in not to much time and you have something to show everyone and they are so impressed!  I'm even impressed with myself!!!! However. and this is a big however.  Now, it's going to be an absolutely gorgeous weekend.  EVERYONE will be outside!  I hope some of you can come by.  Oh well!  If I could spend the week end out side I would too.   Here's hopeing!!!

Getting Ready For Baggoramma!

Always something to get ready for around here.  Saturday,  May 12th is Baggoramma!  That's the day we have demos all day on wonderful bags and purses that you can make.  We will have them all deconstructed, so that you can see how easy they are to make. I really enjoy making these kind of projects.  Most of the time they are easy enough to make in an afternoon.  Such  quick gratification!  They also make a really wonderful gift.  Moms Day is coming. Have you got a plan?  I know I would love a beautiful new bag made just for me.  I don't think my sons will be doing this for me, but maybe my son's girlfriend?  Well, I can only hope!  Today, I am working with a new pattern for a sweet wallet.  It has places for all my cards and even a zippered coin  area.  I have it all cut out.  It looks fun and easy!
We will also be demoing fun ways to embellish our creations.  Here is a sweet little flower.  It uses the "Kensashi" flower tools.  These little flowers are so fun to make.  They look great on all kinds of projects.  I made a head band and embellished it with these flowers.  They would make a beautiful lapel pin or put one on bag!  Whatever you do with them, they are easy to make, so you will want to make lots of them.  So mark your calendar!  Here's an idea! Bring mom by for bagoramma and make some bags together!  The very BEST gift we can give is our TIME!

I Have Been a Bad Girl! Sorry!!!

It has been FOREVER since I have posted anything!  I am soooo sorry!  I don't have a big excuse.  sometimes, the longer you put something off. The harder it is to get back to it.  It's not that there hasn't been LOTS of things happening.  We had our last session of the "Bali Wedding Star" class this last Saturday.  Here is a picture of one of the beauties.  I think this is just an amazing quilt.  We have a new session planned starting in September.  The whole class was in agreement that Linda Tellesbo is a wonderful teacher.  If you are interested in the class this fall, don't hesitate to come get signed up.  I already have students signed up.  I know it will fill up early.
This weekend is our final block of our Saturday Sampler.  Next month we will be showing how to put all our blocks together. I'm excited to see it done.  We will be starting a new session in September.  So be on the look out for more information.
I am preparing for our big "Baggoramma"  Saturday, May 12th.  We will be demoing all day on how to make some really terrific bags and totes.  So as you can see. There is always lots going on around  my world.  I will try and keep you more up to date.   Thanks for following!
